1. Creating an Insight
Launch your Visualization by going to your Team Page (teamname.gistapp.com) and clicking on the Visualization tile.
Your Visualization will open in a new window.
Using the available controls, find a View that best describes your Insight.
When you are ready to create your Insight, click the "More" icon in the top right of the page and select "Create Insight". A dialog box will prompt you to enter your Insight details.
Enter the details and click "Save". A confirmation in the top right corner will let you know that the Insight was successfully created.
2. Editing an Insight
After the Insight has been created, go to your Dashboard to view and optionally edit your Insight. To navigate to the "Dashboard", click on your profile icon and the top corner of the page and select "Dashboard".
Once in the "Dashboard", select "Insights" from the side menu on the left.
To edit the Insight, click on the title or the pencil icon. Optionally, you can also click the "X" to delete your Insight. If you created multiple Insights, the filter menus at the top of the Insights list will help you find what you are looking for quicker.
Once you clicked on the individual Insight from the list, an "Insight Detail" page will open. Both the title and description of the Insight can be edited here. Edit the fields as needed and click "Save".
3. Publishing Insights (Authors)
To publish Insights for a Visualization (or make it possible for others to do so), you must first make sure that the your Visualization's privacy settings are set to "Allow anyone to view visualization". To do that, go to your "Visualizations" tab in the left menu and click on the relevant Visualization.
Navigate to the "Display" tab and make sure that both "Allow anyone to view visualization" and "List visualization on you team page" are turned on. Next, click the "View Team Page” via the side menu on the left.
You are now on your Team Page with two available tabs: "Visualizations" and "Insights".
Click on the "Insights" tab and you will see your Insights in a blog-like format with most recent entries at the top.
Clicking on the title of the Insight will open the Visualization fullscreen, preserving the View that describes the Insight.
